Role Overview: We are seeking a Cloud/Platform Engineer to join our IT Operations team. This role will play a key part in delivering high-impact, business-driven cloud initiatives. The engineer will focus on automation and infrastructure design within Azure, supporting both internal platform development and external application modernization efforts.
Key Projects
1. Azure AI Search Integration and modernization of on-prem applications for off-network availability
2. Platform-as-a-Product development: Automating platform services for application delivery teams
3. Supporting a maturing cloud environment with scalable, secure, and automated infrastructure solutions
Responsibilities:
Cloud Infrastructure & Automation
- Design and implement Azure infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (Terraform)
- Automate monitoring, scaling, and management of cloud resources
- Build and maintain Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines
- Develop reusable Azure infrastructure modules aligned with business needs
Collaboration & Support
- Partner with cross-functional teams to translate requirements into automated cloud solutions
- Provide guidance on Azure best practices and automation strategies
- Offer training and support to internal teams as needed
- Contribute to a collaborative and agile team environment
Candidate Profile
- 3+ years of experience designing and managing Azure cloud infrastructure
- 2+ years working with IaC tools, especially Terraform
- Strong scripting skills with PowerShell
- Experience with CI/CD tools and release management processes
- Familiarity with cloud security best practices
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
Knowledge of:
- Microsoft DevOps, GitHub
- Terraform, Azure Resource Manager, Azure Bicep, Ansible

Candidate Profile:

- Must have experience with Code Promotion and Release Process.
- Understanding of cloud security best practices and tools
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- 3+ years designing, implementing, and managing Azure cloud infrastructure
- 2+ years working with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, specifically Terraform
- Familiarity with the following technologies / concepts:
- Software development platforms (Microsoft DevOps, GitHub, etc.)
- Infrastructure as code concepts (Terraform, Azure Resource Manager etc.)

This is a Contract position based out of Milwaukee, WI.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $75.00/hr.
