Position: SAP Payroll Consultant

We are seeking an experienced SAP Payroll Consultant to support end-to-end payroll processes, configuration, enhancements, and production support within the SAP HCM or SAP SuccessFactors environment.
The ideal candidate will have strong functional expertise, hands-on configuration capability, and deep understanding of statutory and compliance requirements across relevant payroll regions (US, Canada, Global, or EC Payroll).
Key Responsibilities
Payroll Configuration & Support
- Configure and maintain SAP Payroll schemas, rules, wage types, PCRs, calendars, and pay period settings.
- Manage off-cycle payroll, retroactive accounting, garnishments, taxes, benefits integration, and payroll control processes.
- Support payroll posting to FI/CO, GL reconciliation, and finance integration activities.
- Troubleshoot and resolve payroll issues including master data, time data, and results discrepancies.
End-to-End Payroll Processing
- Execute payroll runs, pre-payroll checks, error resolution, and post-processing activities.
- Ensure accuracy and compliance for all payroll cycles (monthly, bi-weekly, weekly).
- Coordinate with HR, Finance, Benefits, and IT teams to ensure seamless processing.
Compliance & Reporting
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations, labor laws, and year-end statutory requirements (W-2, W-4, 1099, T4, etc., based on region).
- Support SAP Payroll reporting: wage type reporter, payroll clusters, audit reports, and custom reporting requirements.
Integrations
- Work with interfaces between SAP Payroll and third-party vendors (ADP, Benefit Providers, Time Systems, Banking, etc.).
- Maintain and troubleshoot IDocs, ALE, BAPIs, and API integrations with SuccessFactors or external systems.
Documentation & Stakeholder Interaction
- Prepare functional designs, configuration documents, test scripts, and user training materials.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate requirements into system solutions.
- Participate in UAT, regression testing, parallel payroll testing, and cutover activities.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 10+ years of hands-on experience in SAP Payroll (US).
- Deep expertise in schemas, rules, time evaluation (if relevant), and payroll technical architecture.
- Strong understanding of statutory payroll requirements and compliance frameworks.
- Experience with payroll posting, Finance integration, and cluster results analysis.
- Ability to analyze payroll logs, root-cause issues, and recommend long-term fixes.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work with business stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll (ECP) or hybrid SAP HCM + SF EC environments.
- Knowledge of SAP Time Management (TM) or Workforce Time & Attendance systems.
- Familiarity with BADI enhancements, user exits, and payroll-related ABAP debugging.
- Experience in large-scale payroll transformation or cloud migration projects.
- SAP HCM or SuccessFactors certification (Payroll, EC, ECP).
