Job Title: Data Analyst III
Duration: 12 Months
Location: Chicago IL (5 Onsite a week)
Pay rate: $45.00 - 50.17/hr
Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Data Governance Analyst to support enterprise-level and local data management requirements on a ServiceNow implementation initiative. This role will work closely with data architecture, engineering, and quality teams, as well as data consumers using Global Information Security data, to ensure compliance with Enterprise Data Management policies and GIS data governance requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Facilitate governance routines, meetings, and detailed deliverable tracking.
Provide governance oversight for critical data use in applications, metrics, and reporting.
Conduct technical analysis to validate data use requests and business requirements.
Collaborate with data owners to identify and document business and technical metadata.
Maintain data dictionaries, catalogues, lineage, and metadata within the metadata repository.
Ensure quality and integrity of metadata and escalate issues as needed.
Design process flows and diagrams using Visio.
Risk identification, management, and escalation.
Assess and manage data-related risks in alignment with financial institution standards.
Apply understanding of data risk principles as defined by Enterprise Data Management Policy to ensure compliance and mitigate exposure.
Required Experience
10+ years in roles requiring critical thinking and problem-solving.
5+ years in technical and analytical roles (non-development).
5+ years in data governance and/or metadata management.
Required Qualifications
Demonstrated proficiency in data management principles.
Experience in managing Critical Data Elements and ensuring accurate provisioning from authoritative sources.
Proven experience collaborating with data consumers to capture use cases and business requirements.
Experience in aligning business data needs with accurate, fit-for-purpose data sources.
Experience with metadata management tools and enterprise data catalog solutions.
Ability to establish and maintain data lineage frameworks for traceability.
Demonstrated proficiency in managing business and technical metadata.
Proven ability in managing data governance processes, routines, and deliverables.
Understanding risk management and regulatory compliance within financial institutions.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience collaborating with internal audit and regulatory teams.
Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
Experience with JIRA for managing governance tasks in Agile environments.
Data Management industry certification (e.g. Certified Data Management Professional)
Required Soft Skills

Ability to prioritize and work with minimal oversight.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Proven interpersonal skills to gain cooperation from stakeholders.
