Our customer is seeking a SAP Solution Architect. This is 100% remote opportunity. The SAP Solution Architect will serve as a senior, enterpriselevel advisor responsible for evaluating the entire SAP landscape across all modules and guiding both technical and functional teams toward bestpractice, scalable solutions.

- The SAP Solution Architect will serve as a senior, enterpriselevel advisor responsible for evaluating the entire SAP landscape across all modules and guiding both technical and functional teams toward bestpractice, scalable solutions.
This role is not purely futurestate or greenfield focused. Instead, it blends currentstate help, architectural decisionmaking, and incremental modernization, with the goal of improving how SAP is used across the business.
The architect will act as a trusted partner to business users, helping align SAP capabilities with real operational needs while steering teams in the right direction architecturally.
SAP Module Experience Priorities - Accounting / Finance
- Required to help drive efficiency, modernization, and Fiori adoption
- Merchandising
- Highly customized, especially in Fiori
- Team is currently light on SAP bestpractice knowledge in this area
Core Responsibilities
- Evaluate how all SAP modules work together as an integrated ecosystem
- Provide architectural guidance on how SAP should function endtoend
- Step in when teams are planning fixes or enhancements to:
- Recommend SAP best practices
- Prevent shortterm fixes that create longterm technical debt
- Advise on module interdependencies (e.g., Finance impacts on upstream/downstream processes)
- Support functional managers during planning by:
- Reviewing proposed configurations
- Providing insight into SAPrecommended approaches
- Helping shape the future state with scalability in mind
- Serve as an architectural sounding board for functional teams, even when they own configuration decisions
Current Initiatives & Focus Areas
This architect will be actively involved in several currentstate and nearterm initiatives, including some of the following focus areas:
- Finance
- Migration of Finance users to SAP Fiori
- Improving efficiency and adoption through better UX and bestpractice guidance
- Integration & Platform
- Evaluating and supporting the move from SAP PI/PO to SAP BTP
- Providing architectural input on integration strategy
- Accounts Payable Enhancements
- Exploration of OCR solutions for invoice processing
- Upgrades & Lifecycle Management
- Supporting the upgrade of S/4HANA to the 2023 version
- Assisting with system archiving initiatives
- Continuous Improvement (75% focus here)
- Reviewing and guiding small, ongoing improvement efforts to ensure architectural soundness
- Strategic vs. CurrentState Balance
- Approximately 75% focused on currentstate support, issue resolution, and continuous improvements
- Approximately 25% focused on forwardlooking strategy and futurestate planning
- Architectural Authority & DecisionMaking
- The architect will weigh in on architectural decisions and help steer outcomes
- They will influence direction through expertise, collaboration, and trust not topdown mandates
- While external systems integrators (notably Applexus) provide much of the strategy and support today, this role will:
- Partner closely with those external teams
- Strengthen internal architectural ownership
- Ensure continuity and consistency across initiatives
- Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
- IT teams (functional, technical, and leadership)
- Business users in:
- Accounting / Finance (highest priority)
- Merchandising
- Warehouse (limited interaction)
- Systems integrator and external partners (e.g., Applexus)
- This role is highly peoplefacing, with daily interaction across business and technical groups.
