About the Role
We are seeking a highly experienced Business Analyst with deep expertise in the Insurance domain to support enterprise-level initiatives for a leading insurance organization. The Business Analyst will work closely with business stakeholders, product owners, IT teams, and vendors to analyze business processes, gather and document requirements, and deliver high-quality solutions that improve operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and customer experience across insurance functions.
Key Responsibilities
Business Analysis & Process Improvement
Analyze end-to-end insurance business processes, systems, and data to identify gaps, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities.
Recommend process improvements and system enhancements aligned with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
Support initiatives across insurance functions including:
o Policy Administration
o Underwriting
o Claims Management
o Billing and Payments
o Customer Service Operations
Evaluate existing workflows and propose optimized future-state solutions.
Requirements Gathering & Documentation
Elicit, analyze, document, and validate business and functional requirements through stakeholder interviews, workshops, and working sessions.
Translate business needs into:
o Functional requirements
o Use cases and user stories
o Process flow diagrams
o Data mappings and business rules
Ensure requirements are clear, complete, traceable, testable, and aligned with business goals.
Stakeholder & Cross-Functional Collaboration
Act as a liaison between business users, product owners, developers, QA teams, and external vendors.
Support development teams throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
Participate in Agile and/or Waterfall ceremonies including:
o Sprint planning
o Backlog grooming
o UAT planning and execution
o Defect triage and resolution
Provide ongoing support to ensure accurate and timely delivery of solutions.
Documentation & Knowledge Management
Develop and maintain comprehensive project documentation including:
o Business Requirements Documents (BRDs)
o Functional Requirements Documents (FRDs)
o Process flow diagrams
o User guides and training materials
Ensure all documentation complies with internal standards and insurance regulatory guidelines.
Support knowledge transfer and end-user training activities as needed.
Mandatory Skills & Certifications
LOMA certification with at least FLMI Level 1 (FLMI Level 2 or higher preferred)
Strong hands-on experience as a Business Analyst in the Insurance domain
Required Experience
12+ years of overall experience as a Business Analyst
5-7 years of Business Analyst experience within the Insurance industry
Strong understanding of insurance operations, workflows, and regulatory considerations
Proven expertise in:
o Requirements gathering and analysis
o Business process modeling
o Functional and technical documentation
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking abilities
Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Preferred Skills & Competencies
Experience working in Agile and/or Waterfall project environments
Proficiency with business process modeling tools such as Visio or BPMN tools
Familiarity with business intelligence, reporting tools, and data analysis techniques
Experience supporting User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and working closely with QA teams
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, enterprise environment
