Business Analyst Insurance Domain

Introduction:

The Business Analyst in the Insurance Domain will be responsible for analyzing business processes, identifying improvement opportunities, and translating business needs into effective technology and operational solutions. This role will involve collaborating with business stakeholders, IT teams, and cross-functional partners to enhance efficiency, compliance, and customer experience across insurance operations.

Responsibilities:

• Analyze end-to-end insurance business processes, systems, and data to identify gaps, inefficiencies, and opportunities for optimization.
• Recommend process improvements and system enhancements aligned with business goals and regulatory requirements.
• Support initiatives related to policy administration, underwriting, claims, billing, and customer service systems.
• Elicit, analyze, document, and validate business and functional requirements through stakeholder interviews, workshops, and working sessions.
• Translate business requirements into detailed functional specifications, use cases, process flows, and data mappings.
• Act as a liaison between business users, product owners, developers, QA teams, and vendors.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive project documentation including business requirement documents, functional requirement documents, process flow diagrams, user guides, and training materials.

Requirements:

• LOMA certification with at least FLMI Level 1 (FLMI Level 2 or higher preferred).
• Bachelor's degree in business administration, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 12+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, 5-7 years within the Insurance domain.
• Strong understanding of insurance operations, workflows, and regulatory considerations.
• Proven expertise in requirements gathering, business process modeling, and functional documentation.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Skills & Competencies:

• Experience working in Agile and/or Waterfall project environments.
• Proficiency with business process modeling tools (e.g., Visio, BPMN tools).
• Familiarity with business intelligence, reporting tools, and data analysis techniques.
• Experience supporting UAT and working with QA teams.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
