Job Title: AI / Machine Learning Consultant

Location: Pontiac, MI (Hybrid)

Job Description

The AI / Machine Learning Consultant designs, develops, and deploys artificial intelligence and machine learning solutions to enhance business processes, improve decision-making, and support innovation. This role works closely with cross-functional teams to identify use cases, gather requirements, and implement AI-powered applications, with a strong focus on public safety and law enforcement data systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, train, validate, and deploy AI/ML solutions to support County and law enforcement operations.
• Build a solution that allows authorized users to query CLEMIS data using natural, everyday language instead of complex SQL queries or traditional search interfaces.
• Work with public safety systems such as Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD), Records Management Systems (RMS), and Field Records Management Systems (FRMS).
• Analyze and understand public safety datasets and their relationships.
• Support initial AI-powered search across current CLEMIS datasets, including:
  • People (including aliases)
  • Identifiers
  • Incidents and offenses
• Plan and support future use of RMS data for predictive analytics and advanced insights.
• Extract data from on-premises Oracle and SQL Server databases into the AWS Cloud.
• Transform, cleanse, and mask sensitive data to ensure compliance with CJIS, PII, and other security standards.
• Store data in optimized formats for AI/ML workloads, including vector databases (e.g., Pinecone).
• Implement Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) capabilities using AWS Bedrock.
• Utilize industry-standard AI models such as Claude or AWS Titan/Nova.
• Ensure the entire AI solution is securely hosted and maintained within the AWS Cloud.
• Stay current with emerging AI technologies, tools, and industry best practices.

• Data & Analytics: Apache Spark, Databricks, Jupyter Notebooks
• Cloud Platforms: AWS (SageMaker, EC2, S3, Bedrock), Azure (Machine Learning Studio, Databricks)
• Databases: Oracle, SQL Server, SQL, NoSQL, Vector Databases (Pinecone)
