TEKsystems is currently looking for a MS Wintel System Administrator with 7+ years of experience, excellent communication/operational execution and troubleshooting skills, experience working within enterprise environments. You will be part of a team contributing to actively reducing the number of server vulnerabilities across support scope. The server patch management role includes targeting, scheduling, patch installation, governance and reporting to drive
risk reduction. This role is primarily focused on OS server patch and Core Ancillary upgrades & installation and the associated communication,
troubleshooting and change control efforts as part of monthly patching routines.

• This Role will execute and oversee server patching during specified maintenance windows using a variety of mechanisms and tools including BladeLogic jobs, custom scripts and perform manual updates where required on more complex systems.
• Required to execute pre-checks to help ensure successful patching events and post-checks to ensure system stability and configuration consistency.
• Communicate regularly with application production support teams, platform engineering teams and level 3 systems operations teams
• Troubleshoot and resolve patch and server failures and escalate where needed.
• This person must be able to quickly identify network or infrastructure related problems and manage the remediation/escalation. This resource serves as a bridge in explaining symptoms and troubleshooting performed to global operations teams if necessary.
• Develop scripts within BladeLogic to automate operating system patching and updates across multiple systems

Experience and complete working knowledge of operating system base health/welfare and x86 midrange IBM, HP, Dell hardware troubleshooting.

• 5+ years of experience with MS Server 2008 - 2019 OS variants and subsequent ability to support dependent technologies (Network, Storage, Clustering, etc)
• 5+ years of experience working with servers in an enterprise environment consisting of 1,500 or more servers

Desired Qualifications
Previous experience in Windows OS Patching
Scripting - PowerShell/ VBS
Experience with clustering solutions and technologies

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $48.00 - $52.00/hr.
