Position: Ansible Automation Engineer

Location: Maryland Heights, MO or Charlotte, NC (Onsite 4 days/week)

Duration: 6+ Months Contract

Job Summary:

Seeking a hands-on Automation Engineer with a strong focus on Ansible automation, specifically building playbooks from scratch, to design and deliver infrastructure automation solutions. The role emphasizes API-driven automation, scripting, and infrastructure-as-code practices within a Windows-centric environment, following SDLC and DevOps best practices.

Must-Have Skills:

• Advanced Ansible expertise (YAML) with proven experience creating playbooks from scratch
• API / REST integration experience for automation solutions
• Strong scripting skills: Python, PowerShell, Bash, or Perl
• Windows OS automation and systems knowledge
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Git, CI/CD tooling (GitLab/Jenkins or similar)
• Solid understanding of SDLC and DevOps concepts

Responsibilities:

• Design and build automation solutions using Ansible and scripting languages
• Develop API-based integrations to automate infrastructure and operations tasks
• Collaborate with infrastructure and operations teams to gather requirements
• Maintain code repositories, CI/CD pipelines, and automation standards
• Create and maintain clear technical and operational documentation
• Troubleshoot automation issues and deliver scalable solutions
