SAP ABAP with RAR Consultant – Overview

An SAP ABAP with RAR Consultant combines technical ABAP development skills with functional expertise in SAP Revenue Accounting and Reporting (RAR), commonly used in IFRS 15 / ASC 606 compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and enhance ABAP programs supporting SAP RAR

• Customize RAR data models, reports, and interfaces

• Build and optimize:

  • POB (Performance Obligation) processing

  • Revenue posting and reconciliation logic

  • FI integration (GL, AR)

• Support RAR migration from SD-based revenue recognition

• Debug and enhance RAR standard function modules / classes

• Create custom reports, CDS views, ALV reports for revenue analysis

• Work with functional teams on revenue scenarios and contract structures

Core Skills Required

Technical (ABAP)

• ABAP Objects (OO ABAP)

• Enhancements: BAdIs, User Exits, EnhSPOTs

• IDocs, BAPIs, RFCs

• ALV Reports, SmartForms / Adobe Forms

• Debugging RAR-specific frameworks

• CDS Views (good to have, especially on S/4HANA)

Functional (RAR)

• SAP RAR architecture and data flow

• Contract, POB, SSP, and allocation concepts

• Revenue recognition events

• Integration with:

  • SD

  • FI (Universal Journal)

  • S/4HANA Finance

• IFRS 15 / ASC 606 understanding
