As a Quality Engineer, you'll play a key role in validating complex data workflows and driving quality standards across enterprise systems. As a Quality Engineer, you will: - Perform ETL testing and validate data pipelines to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Apply strong knowledge of data warehousing concepts and SQL to verify transformations and data integrity.
- Identify gaps in requirements and proactively propose solutions to improve quality and efficiency.
- Prepare for testing by determining test data needs and access requirements well in advance of execution.
- Maintain and execute regression and smoke test suites using TOSCA, ensuring comprehensive coverage.
- Report defects effectively and collaborate with development teams to resolve issues quickly.
- Work closely with stakeholders in the insurance domain to align testing with business requirements.
What You Bring - Strong background in ETL testing, data warehousing, and data pipeline validation.
- Proficiency in SQL for data verification and analysis.
- Experience in the insurance industry and understanding of domain-specific data is preferred.
- Ability to anticipate testing needs and manage preparation proactively.
- Hands-on experience with TOSCA for automated testing.
- Strong communication skills for defect reporting and collaboration.
This will be a hybrid role based out of our Scottsdale, AZ office or our Columbus, OH office, current remote associates will also be considered. The business sits in Scottsdale, AZ so you must be willing to flex hours as needed. The team comes into the office for collaboration 2 days a week (Scottsdale - Wednesdays and Thursdays) (Columbus - Mondays and Tuesdays).

As a Quality Engineer you will plan and conduct a wide range of software quality tests and analyzes to ensure all application products and services meet organizational standards aligned to their quality management approach, as well as, end-user requirements. All Quality Engineers perform quality planning, quality design and execution.
You will focus on a blend of skills enabling efficient execution of risk-based testing, test automation, performance testing, test data management, test environment management, continuous integration and continuous deployment all improving speed to delivery for our business partners.
Job Description Key Responsibilities: - Carries out procedures to ensure all information systems products and services meet organization standards and end-user requirements.
- Analyzes and reviews moderate requirements, user stories and technical work products to create the automation needed.
- Applies secure software and systems engineering practices throughout the delivery lifecycle to ensure our data and technology solutions are protected from threats and vulnerabilities.
- Plans for the proper mix of manual, automated, and exploratory testing methods.
- Uses the appropriate quality engineering tools to define test data management, test automation, security/vulnerability, performance, and regression testing needs.
- Validates test results, records and researches defects.
- Coordinates test runs and test environment calendars for all impacted applications.
- Traces requirements to tests and test results.
- Prioritizes, defines, and manages defect reporting and resolution.
- Manages defects including identifying, tracking, and providing critical thinking for resolution.
- Identifies means to be more effective and efficient in testing, without compromising quality.
- Plans for continuous integration to enable a continuous deployment pipeline.
- Executes moderate release testing and has a plan for back-out testing.
- Validates that release components are installed in the appropriate testing environment.
- Aligns with the Nationwide automated testing reference architecture.
- Complies with release management process governance and timelines throughout the release.
May perform other responsibilities as assigned.
Reporting Relationships: Reports to Technology Manager or Director.
Typical Skills and Experiences: Education : Undergraduate studies in computer science, management information systems, or a related field is preferred.
License/Certification/Designation : Technology certifications including TOSCA Automated Specialist 1 (AS1), TOSCA Automated Specialist 2 (AS2), or other related designations are preferred.
Experience : Four or more years of experience with using test optimization and automation processed and tools. Demonstrated experience in testing for agile teams including planning, test plan creation, maintenance and execution. Good understanding of test automation and optimization throughout a stack and the tools to support.
Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: Strong analytical and communication skills, knowledge of planning. Ability to problem solve and set priorities needed. Insurance/financial services industry knowledge a plus.
Other criteria, including leadership or technical skills, competencies and experiences may take precedence.
