Job Title: Sr. Electrical Design Engineer II
Job Location: 100% Remote
Job Duration: 11 Months Contract
Pay Rate: $45.00/hr to $50.00/hr
Working Hours: HM would like there to be 35 hours weekly, and occasionally go up to 40 hours.

Responsibilities of the Sr. Electrical Engineer will be:
- The Sr. Design Engineer for the Region manages a portfolio of engineering designs to construct infrastructure for electrical systems charging Electric Delivery Vehicles.
- The role scopes and designs the system level design for each site to adhere to cost targets, functionality, and standards.
- The engineer is responsible for performing due diligence for the site and fully scoping the needs of the site to electrify the fleet and ensuring the correct equipment is shipped and installed at the site.
- As business requirements develop, the engineer is responsible for deriving the requirements to incorporate hardened and tested products at each site and navigating the complexities of site-specific constraints.
- As the lead designer for a region, they will drive alignment on site scope across operations managers, construction project managers, product managers, and utility energy managers.
- Share design best practices and educate partner regions on roadblocks concerning subgrade, fire suppression systems, non-standard lots, and other infrastructure hurdles.
- Create Revit Designs by placing pre-standardized electrical equipment modules and drive established optimization metrics through the design process (equipment utilization, linear foot/module, etc.)
- Can manage a portfolio of 20+ projects in design and maintain visibility/tracking into 40+ projects across various phases (design, permitting, construction) in various geographies.
- Can resolve complex system problems beyond standard electrification and work with local agencies having jurisdiction to ensure compliance with federal, state and municipal requirements and building codes.
- Regularly review metrics and proactively seek out new and improved data/mechanisms related to CPC (cost per charger) and regional charger deployment goals.
- Work with commissioning teams to properly test and validate installation, operation, and performance of electrical systems.
- Write effective narratives and present them effectively to decide between infrastructure tradeoffs and time vs cost decisions.
- Travel to sites for site review and work with onsite field engineers, as well as provide engineering evaluations, electrical systems audits, and startup as needed.
- Team-oriented and knows how to have fun and offer creative, out-of-the-box solutions.
Basic qualifications:
- Bachelor s degree in electrical engineering, or 2+ years of (developing the plans) relevant electrical experience.
- 4+ years of experience with industrial or commercial electrical design (working with developers).
- 2+ years of experience developing design documentation (plans, specifications, etc.) for construction and/or permitting.
Preferred qualifications
- Professional Engineering License (P.E. license) and knowledge of building codes and regulations, including Life Safety, IBC, NFPA, NEC, and OSHA.
- Ability to research new designs, technologies, and construction methods for contaminated subgrade and/or fire suppression systems for EV infrastructure.
- An ability and willingness to think outside of the box to find creative and innovative solutions to reduce costs with no impact on quality, reliability, or maintainability.
- Experience with fast-track design/build projects, multiple significant upgrade projects, and large-scale electrical distribution projects.
