Senior Platform Engineer/Kafka Platform Engineer/Platform Engineer Data Governance- Remote

We are seeking a highly skilled Platform / Kafka Engineer with strong experience in Kafka and modern platform engineering practices. The ideal candidate will have a solid DevOps background, hands-on experience with SQL performance optimization, and proficiency in Python to automate platform operations. This role will focus on building, securing, and optimizing scalable data platforms while ensuring strong governance and reliability.

• Design, build, and maintain Kafka-based streaming platforms for high-throughput, low-latency workloads.

• Manage and enhance platform engineering and DevOps capabilities, including automation, monitoring, and reliability.

• Perform advanced SQL query profiling, tuning, and schema optimization to improve performance and scalability.

• Develop Python-based automation for platform tasks, stored procedures, and enable Snowpark-based workload execution.

• Provision and manage roles, warehouses, databases, and policies across the data platform.

• Implement and enforce security and governance standards, including access control, privilege management, and data masking.

• Collaborate with application, data, and security teams to support platform usage and best practices.

• Troubleshoot platform issues and optimize system performance and reliability.

• 5+ years of overall IT experience.

• Strong hands-on experience with Apache Kafka (architecture, administration, and troubleshooting).

• Proven experience in Platform Engineering and/or DevOps environments.

• Advanced SQL skills, including query profiling, performance tuning, and schema optimization.

• Working knowledge of Python for automation and platform enablement.

• Experience provisioning and managing roles, warehouses, databases, and access policies.

• Strong understanding of security and governance concepts, including access control, privilege management, and data masking.

• Experience with Snowflake and Snowpark.

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and cloud platforms.

• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
