Senior IT Auditor - Contract - Salisbury, NC /Hybrid - $135,000 - $165,000

The final salary or hourly wage, as applicable, paid to each candidate/applicant for this position is ultimately dependent on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, the candidate's/applicant's qualifications, skills, and level of experience as well as the geographical location of the position.

Our client is seeking a Senior IT Auditor in Salisbury, NC

Role Description

Designing and executing audit programs targeting high-risk areas in IT operations, cybersecurity, and compliance.
Evaluating control frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, COBIT, and CIS to ensure alignment with industry standards.
Assessing cloud security architecture, identity and access management, and data protection strategies.
Auditing emerging technologies including AI, IoT, and automation to understand their impact on business processes.
Communicating audit findings to senior leadership and delivering clear, risk-based recommendations.
Building strong relationships with IT, security, and business stakeholders to stay aligned with evolving risk landscapes.
Participating in training, certifications, and industry forums to stay current on cybersecurity trends and audit methodologies.

Skills & Requirements

5-8 years of experience in IT audit, cybersecurity, or technology risk (Big 4 or large enterprise preferred).
Expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform), network security, application controls, and data governance.
Certifications such as CISSP, CISA, CISM, or equivalent.
Strong understanding of IT frameworks (e.g., NIST CSF, ISO 27001, COBIT, SOC 2).
Proven ability to lead audits, manage projects, and communicate effectively with senior stakeholders.
Familiarity with digital transformation, DevSecOps, and secure software development practices.
Willingness to travel domestically up to 20%.
