Description
We are seeking high caliber Software Engineer to join our Software Verification team. The Software Engineer supports the EnSite X EP System by verifying that the software used for real time cardiac mapping and ablation performs safely, accurately, and reliably.
The Software Engineer will bring testing expertise to the innovative, fast-paced verification team. This high caliber, motivated and passionate individual will be responsible for requirements analysis, test design, test execution, defect issue resolution. Systems used: Inside X Mapping system + DWS, monitors, amplifiers, RF generators.
Role overview: This is a 6-month contract role, with extensions available every six months based on performance, and potential conversion to full-time depending on business needs and individual results. The schedule is five days per week, eight hours per day, with no travel expected. The first four weeks consist of structured training, followed by manual test execution and, over time, test development and automation. Success within 90 days is defined by completing training, gaining a strong understanding of the application, and executing tests effectively.
Day to day:
1. Regulated Test Planning & Execution (FDA / ISO)
-Plan, write, and execute formal test cases in compliance with Abbott procedures and FDA/ISO standards, including dry runs, verification activities, and V&V documentation.
2. Requirements Analysis & Test Design
-Analyze system and software requirements to design robust test strategies, create new test suites for evolving features, and conduct requirements, design, and test reviews.
3. Defect Management & Verification Support
-Identify, document, and resolve defects during V&V activities; configure test equipment, execute tests, and ensure proper defect closure and traceability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, design, write, execute, and document software test cases and test suites for new and existing functionality in accordance with Abbott procedures, FDA regulations, and ISO quality standards
- Perform requirements, design, and test reviews to ensure traceability, quality, and regulatory compliance
- Execute dry runs and formal verification and validation (V&V) activities as required
- Set up, configure, and maintain test equipment and test environments to support verification activities
- Identify, document, track, and support resolution and closure of software defects discovered during testing and V&V
- Ensure ongoing compliance with Abbott development practices and applicable regulatory and quality standards
- Work independently and collaboratively with software development, systems, and quality teams to support testing and verification efforts

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
