Senior Data Analyst

Key Responsibilities

Data Governance & Analysis

• Lead the refinement, validation, and documentation of the enterprise data dictionary.
• Work directly with business Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to elicit and clarify data definitions, business rules, and complex calculations.
• Function as a bridge between business requirements and technical implementation, ensuring accuracy across reporting and application teams.
• Identify data quality issues and partner with technical teams to implement resolutions.

Reporting & SQL Development

• Design, develop, and maintain high-impact reports using Power BI and SSRS.
• Provide advanced SQL Server expertise, including writing complex queries, functions, and stored procedures.
• Support data warehouse development, including performance optimization and indexing strategies.
• Translate business logic into clear, actionable technical specifications for analytics.

Migration & Project Support

• Assist with the conversion and redevelopment of reports impacted by system migrations.
• Document data lineage, transformations, and report logic consistently.
• Communicate progress, risks, and data-related issues to the IT Project Manager.

Required Skills & Experience

• Professional Experience: 7+ years of data analysis or business intelligence experience.
• Technical Proficiency: Demonstrated experience with Power BI, SSRS, and SQL Server (including performance tuning and table partitioning).
• Data Warehousing: Strong experience working within data warehouse environments.
• Business Analysis: Proven ability to elicit and document requirements directly from business stakeholders.
• Adaptability: Experience working in production environments under time constraints.
• Soft Skills: High attention to detail, strong documentation skills, and the ability to collaborate with developers, SMEs, and Project Managers.

Highly Desired Qualifications

• Experience supporting financial, tax, or property-related systems.
• Experience assisting with large-scale system migrations or report conversions.
• Public sector experience or experience in highly visible environments.
• Proven track record of independently validating data logic and resolving ambiguity.
