Job Title: Project Engineer
Location: Salt Lake City, UT
Duration: Contract, 1 year+
Salary range: $30-35/hr DOE
Job Responsibilities:
Engineers will perform traditional tasks including project management, facility design, equipment and material specification, cost estimating, scheduling, alternative analysis, problem solving and performance evaluation/improvement.
Engineers will manage projects involving the construction of new facilities, replacement of obsolete facilities, alteration or repair of existing facilities, or the performance of complex operational activities, by managing all, or a portion of the project scope, schedule, and cost.
Provides engineering services for the planning, design, operation and maintenance of industrial facilities.
Represents management in coordination of activities and communication of technical policies and procedures.
Provides project management and technical support for projects or certain phases of projects including schedules, designs, estimates, engineering specifications, policies and procedures, drawings, materials procurement, contracts, cost tracking and project cost projections.
Communicates with internal and external business partners to determine needs and measure satisfaction, understand current status, emphasize priorities, and obtain technical advice.
Job Requirements:
BS degree in engineering (mechanical, chemical or civil) from an ABET-accredited college or university, and engineer-in-training (EIT)/fundamentals of engineering (FE) or equivalent certification.
1+ years of relevant engineering experience with natural gas or petrochemical pipelines and pipeline facilities.
Highly effective oral and written communication skills.
Experience with various aspects in the development of natural gas pipeline and pipeline facilities-related projects and knowledge of regulatory codes and standards related to natural gas pipelines, including 49 CFR Part 192 is preferred.
Project management skills and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and/or projects concurrently.
Proficiency with desktop programs (Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Project, Adobe, ArcGIS, database applications, etc.).
Understanding and use of specialized analytical programs, such as stress analysis, hydraulic models, failure analysis and sizing tools preferred.
