Senior Web development Contractor
Join a fast-moving team building modern, high-impact software products. We're looking for a Senior Ruby on Rails Contractor who can move fast, own projects end-to-end, and deliver production-ready features with minimal oversight. You'll work across a modern stack-Ruby on Rails, React, TypeScript, and MySQL-to ship features that make a real difference.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in an environment where progress is made through iteration and initiative, not waiting for perfect specs.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services in Ruby on Rails.
- Develop and enhance front-end features using React and TypeScript.
- Write efficient, maintainable SQL for MySQL databases.
- Take ownership of projects from concept to production.
- Debug, optimize, and ship code quickly with attention to quality.
- Collaborate directly with product and design teams to define technical solutions.
- Ensure code quality through thoughtful reviews and testing.
Qualifications
- Must have exceptional written and verbal English with complete fluency
- Must have 5+ years experience as a lead software developer and co-founder of a software development studio/agency/company
- Must have 5+ years of typescript experience
- Must have 5+ years of backend web development experience (node.js, golang, or Ruby on Rails)
- Must have 5+ years of react experience
- Must have a computer science degree (major or minor)
