Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior SQL Server Database Administrator (DBA) to coordinate, design, secure, and maintain enterprise-level databases that support critical business operations. This role serves as a subject matter expert, providing advanced technical guidance and leadership to database and application teams. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in SQL Server administration, performance optimization, and high-availability environments.

Key Responsibilities

Manage all aspects of SQL Server database administration, including:
- Schema management
- Security configuration and access control
- Installation, upgrades, patching, and configuration
- Backup, recovery, and disaster-recovery planning
- Space management, performance tuning, and capacity planning
Support application teams by troubleshooting issues and optimizing database performance
Maintain and support SQL Server databases across Production, Test, and Development environments, including integration with Microsoft SharePoint farms
Install, configure, test, and deploy SQL Server Always On availability groups and other high-availability solutions
Develop, document, and implement robust database recovery plans and procedures
Monitor database performance and recommend tuning strategies or application changes
Implement and enforce database security protocols, including authentication and authorization standards
Review system designs and contribute to the development of new or enhanced database solutions
Modify database structures and deploy schema changes to support evolving business requirements
Create and maintain scripts for batch data loads and automated operational jobs
Utilize and support Cohesity Backup Appliance solutions
Apply working knowledge of cloud technologies and governance best practices

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field from an accredited institution
7+ years of experience supporting operating systems, database management systems, or related enterprise environments
Extensive hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server administration
Strong expertise in performance tuning, backup and recovery, and high-availability solutions
Ability to work independently while also serving as a technical lead and mentor
