Job Title: Specialty Software Engineer - Application Security (SAST, AI/ML)

Location: Iselin, NJ (or Cyber core locations: NJ, Charlotte, Dallas, Arizona)
Work Model: Hybrid - 3 days/week onsite in a core office (no fully remote option)
About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Specialty Software Engineer to support complex, large-scale initiatives in Application Security. In this role, you will provide technical expertise for Static Application Security Testing (SAST), drive integration between Checkmarx and Corgea, and enhance secure development pipelines using AI and Machine Learning (ML) capabilities.

You will work closely with cross-functional partners to evaluate multifaceted engineering challenges, develop scalable solutions, and ensure alignment with enterprise security standards. This position requires strong analytical skills, deep technical knowledge, and the ability to collaborate strategically across teams.
What You'll Do

• Lead the development and implementation of SAST strategies for AI/ML applications.
• Customize SAST tools to integrate with LLMs, AI/ML frameworks, and secure development workflows.
• Automate testing and integrate SAST capabilities into CI/CD pipelines.
• Troubleshoot complex Checkmarx and pipeline-related issues.
• Provide hands-on support for Checkmarx and Checkmarx One platforms.
• Work with external vendors to drive accountability and resolve product defects.
• Support platform patching, upgrades, and testing cycles.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, Application Security Champions, developers, and global partners.
• Maintain accurate, up-to-date documentation and process details with strong attention to detail.

Minimum Qualifications

• 5+ years of Specialty Software Engineering experience, or equivalent combination of work, training, military experience, or education.
• 4+ years of application security experience.
• 3+ years of AI/ML development, including use of frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.
• 2+ years working with generative AI models, reinforcement learning, or autocode remediation models.
• 2+ years working in Agile environments and with tools like Jira/Confluence (or equivalents).
• Strong understanding of OWASP Top 10.
• Excellent communication, customer service, and cross-team collaboration skills.
• Ability to diagnose and resolve complex integration challenges.

Preferred Qualifications

• 2+ years of cloud environment experience.
• 3+ years of scripting experience (Python preferred).
• 2+ years of SQL experience.
• 1+ year of experience with Corgea AI (preferred but not required).

Work Location Requirements

• Must be based in Iselin, NJ or another Cyber core location (Charlotte, Dallas, Arizona).
• Must work on-site 3 days per week; fully remote work is not permitted.
