Job Title: Senior Splunk Engineer (Cloud & Observability)

Location: Louisville, KY (Hybrid/Onsite as applicable)

Job Description Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Splunk Engineer (Cloud & Observability) to design, implement, and support Splunk Cloud–based observability and analytics solutions. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in the Splunk Platform, strong Python skills, and hands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code and modern CI/CD practices. This role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure scalable, high-performance monitoring and analytics solutions.

Required Experience and Skills

• 6+ years of hands-on Splunk engineering and administration experience
• 3+ years of experience with Splunk Cloud and Splunk Platform
• Strong proficiency in Python for automation and integration
• Expertise in log parsing, normalization, and alignment with Splunk Common Information Model (CIM)
• Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Azure DevOps, and Ansible
• Hands-on experience with Splunk SOAR, ITSI, or similar platforms
• Experience building and supporting CI/CD pipelines in production environments
• Splunk certification such as Splunk Certified Core Power User or Splunk Enterprise Admin (required or strongly preferred)

Roles & Responsibilities

• Lead Splunk Cloud enablement and fulfillment activities
• Provide Splunk Cloud Platform support, including configuration, performance tuning, and troubleshooting
• Design and implement observability solutions using modern monitoring and analytics technologies
• Perform data onboarding, log aggregation, metric instrumentation, and distributed trace correlation
• Build, optimize, and maintain dashboards, alerts, reports, and analytics
• Integrate Splunk with CI/CD pipelines and ensure operational readiness in production
• Collaborate with development, infrastructure, and security teams to deliver end-to-end observability solutions

Managerial & Collaboration Skills

• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to coordinate across cross-functional teams and ensure timely delivery
• Experience facilitating Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog refinement, and retrospectives

Education & Certifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• Splunk certifications such as Core Power User or Enterprise Admin preferred
