Role: Data Consultant / Informatica
Location: Salt Lake City, UT – Onsite
Key Responsibilities: -
ETL Design & Development -?
Design, develop, and maintain ETL workflows using Informatica PowerCenter.
Build robust ETL mappings, sessions, and workflows to support various business processes.
Perform data extraction, transformation, and loading from heterogeneous data sources (RDBMS, flat files, XML, APIs, etc.).
Optimize ETL performance and ensure scalable, high‑performing data integration pipelines.
Data Analysis & Validation-?
Conduct data analysis to understand source systems and identify data quality issues.
Implement data validation, cleansing, and reconciliation processes.
Collaborate with business analysts and data architects to translate requirements into technical specifications.
Data Warehousing-?
Work with dimensional modeling concepts (star schema, snowflake schema, fact & dimension tables).
Support the development and maintenance of data warehouse/Data Mart structures.
Testing & Support-?
Conduct unit testing, integration testing, and performance testing of ETL components.
Provide production support for ETL jobs, troubleshoot failures, and ensure SLA adherence.
Document design specifications, technical processes, and operational procedures.
Collaboration-?
Partner with DBAs, architects, QA teams, and business stakeholders to deliver end‑to‑end ETL solutions.
Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Education Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field
Required Skills & Qualifications
5–7 years of hands‑on experience in ETL development using Informatica PowerCenter.
Strong proficiency in writing and optimizing SQL (Oracle, SQL Server, or similar).
Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts, ETL best practices, and data modelling techniques.
Experience with workflow scheduling tools (Control-M, Autosys, Tivoli, etc.).
Good knowledge of Unix/Linux shell scripting for automation and troubleshooting.
Ability to analyze complex data sets and resolve data quality issues.
Strong debugging skills and experience in performance tuning of mappings, sessions, and SQL queries.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Must be onsite in Salt Lake City, UT
Nice to Have:
Experience with Informatica Cloud (IICS) or Informatica Intelligent Cloud Services.
Exposure to big data ecosystems (Hadoop, Spark, Hive) is a plus.
Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud Platform) for data integration.
Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
