Job Title: - Senior Data Engineer
Location: - Spring Texas (On-Site)
Job Type: - Long Term Contract
Interview: - 1st Round – 30 Mins and 2nd Round will be F2F Interview 
Must be local and ready for onsite interview

 
Why is the position open?
•    This role is for a backfill. Previous contractor was in the role for 3 years.
What is Scott and Adam looking for?
•    This is NOT a traditional “tool-based” data engineer.

•    Experience loading data source ? target DB at scale

•    CDC (Change Data Capture)
•    Idempotency
•    Performance tuning & cost awareness
•    Familiar with Medallion Architecture (Bronze / Silver / Gold)
•    Cloud & Platform Stack (Very Important)
•    AWS
•    S3 (semi/unstructured data)
•    Iceberg
•    Snowflake
•    Structured environment
•    Strong SQL skills required:
•    INSERT / UPDATE / DELETE / MERGE
•    Partition management
•    Current environment includes:
•    Airflow (Astronomer – on-prem today)
•    dbt
•    SQL Server
•    Dremio
•    Major cloud migration planned for 2026–2027
Data Analyst / Validation Expectations
•    Candidate must be able to:
•    Independently validate & reconcile data
•    Write complex SQL without assistance
•    Catch and fix data issues before business escalation
•    Data feeds executive dashboards
•    CEO reviews data daily at 8am
•    Accuracy is critical
 
Nice-to-Haves / Differentiators
•    Midstream oil & gas experience (big plus)
•    Upstream / Midstream / Downstream
•    Supply chain / logistics experience
•    Chemical engineering background
•    GitHub or personal projects (must be non-proprietary)
•    Knowledge of machine learning concepts
•    Not a ML role
