Job Overview: The Network Specialist will be responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and supporting the network infrastructure. This role ensures the network is scalable, secure, and available 24/7 to meet business objectives. The position involves configuring network devices, monitoring performance, troubleshooting issues, and collaborating with the Cybersecurity team to maintain compliance with security protocols. The role may also include travel between sites in Connecticut and on-call responsibilities.
Responsibilities: - Design, implement, and maintain network infrastructure to support business objectives.
- Monitor network performance, troubleshoot problems, and schedule maintenance and upgrades.
- Configure network devices and services, including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and VPNs.
- Provide global Network Engineering support and lead in the development of advanced network technologies.
- Ensure ongoing performance of network maintenance, including service packs, patches, and security configurations.
- Monitor network security and risk metrics, track issues, and liaise with the Cybersecurity team to ensure compliance with security protocols.
- Analyze current network configurations and recommend future infrastructure improvements.
- Ensure awareness, approval, and success of changes made to the network infrastructure.
Qualifications: - BA/BS degree and 6-8 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proven experience in configuring and installing complex network devices and systems.
- Strong knowledge of network security, risk metrics, and compliance with security protocols.
- Ability to analyze network performance metrics and recommend improvements.
- Willingness to travel (20% between sites in Connecticut) and participate in on-call rotations (every other month)

Pay Range: $60 - $64/hr. W2
