JOB DESCRIPTION The Database Administrator (DBA) manages and maintains the organization's databases, ensuring data security, availability, performance, and integrity by installing, configuring, monitoring, and tuning database systems, handling backups, managing user access, and troubleshooting issues, working with SQL and various database management systems like Oracle, MySQL, or SQL Server. This DBA will play a crucial role in supporting data-driven operations by making sure authorized users can access the right information efficiently and securely, protecting sensitive data from loss or unauthorized access.
Key Responsibilities - Performance Tuning : Monitoring performance, optimizing queries, and ensuring efficient operation.
- Backup & Recovery : Performing regular backups and developing data recovery plans.
- Maintenance & Monitoring : Patching, updating, monitoring logs, and troubleshooting issues.
- Data Integrity : Ensuring data accuracy, reliability, and availability.
- Collaboration : Working with developers and management to meet data needs and implement new features.
- Installation & Configuration : Setting up database software and systems.
- Security Management : Implementing security measures, managing user permissions, and protecting data from threats.
Duties & Responsibilities - Designing, building, and modifying database structures.
- Managing database clustering and failover.
- Developing stored procedures and triggers.
- Performing capacity planning.
Required Skills - Strong knowledge of SQL and specific Database Management Systems (DBMS) (e.g., Oracle , SQL Server , MySQL ).
- Problem-solving and analytical skills .
