A Fortune 50 financial services company is seeking a highly motivated Senior SQA Tester for our client in the McLean, Virginia area.
Overview:
The Senior SQA Tester will perform integration, regression, and functional testing to ensure systems meet business requirements, quality standards, and operational policies.
This role supports both technical and business teams by validating system functionality, maintaining test environments, and leading testing efforts across projects.
Responsibilities:
Testing & Quality Assurance
Perform integration, regression, and functional testing on new and existing systems.
Assist Quality Assurance Analysts in certifying systems as production-ready.
Create, edit, and execute test cases based on functional and technical requirements.
Build and maintain test data, conditions, and environments needed to support testing.
Identify defects, gaps, and opportunities to improve testing processes.
Track and report testing activity, including execution time, delays, and defects.
Project & Test Leadership
Serve as test lead on assigned projects.
Coordinate and schedule testing activities across teams and environments.
Ensure clear, accurate, and timely communication of testing status, risks, and results.
Full Lifecycle Project Support
Establish and lead testing workstreams within project teams.
Support development of project scope, schedules, costs, and communication plans.
Manage testing timelines, quality, risks, issues, and change control.
Support successful implementation and release of system changes.
Subject Matter Expertise
Act as a subject matter expert for business functions, systems, and testing processes.
Support team members with questions, issue resolution, and knowledge sharing.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Ability to work independently and in a team-based environment.
Experience testing complex systems across multiple platforms.
Strong knowledge of development and operations frameworks (SDLC, ITIL, etc.).
Experience using Azure DevOps for test management, defect tracking, and reporting.
Advanced organizational, planning, and time-management skills.
Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving abilities.
High attention to detail with the ability to meet deadlines.
Ability to clearly present findings, risks, and recommendations.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or equivalent education, training, and experience.
