As a Senior Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Corporate Sector's Finance Technology team , you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm's business objectives.

You'll empower finance professionals across the bank-from strategic planners to forecasting experts and business analysts-to model, consult, forecast, and plan with unprecedented agility and insight.

Job responsibilities
  • Architect and Build: Design and develop robust, scalable, and high-performance platforms for finance users, enabling advanced analysis, modeling, forecasting, and planning capabilities.
  • Lead and Inspire: Guide a talented team of engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and technical excellence.
  • Drive Transformation: Work closely with product managers, finance experts, and stakeholders to deliver solutions that redefine how financial data is leveraged across the organization.
  • Innovate: Leverage the latest technologies in cloud, data engineering, and AI/ML to create tools that set new standards in the industry.
  • Mentor: Share your expertise and help grow the next generation of engineering talent within JPMorgan Chase.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
  • Experience as a software engineer, with a track record of leading complex projects and engineering teams to successful delivery.
  • Experience in building large-scale platforms, with deep knowledge of data quality, observability, and entitlement management to ensure robust, secure, and reliable solutions.
  • Expertise in modern programming languages such as Java, Python, or Scala.
  • Experience with the AWS platform, including its core services, architecture best practices, and security features.
  • Experience with big data technologies, including Apache Spark, for large-scale data processing and analytics.
  • Expertise in building data-driven applications, ideally within finance, banking, or related domains, with an understanding of financial planning and analysis workflows.
  • Experience collaborating with other platform teams to design and build common, reusable frameworks that drive standardization and enable wider adoption across the organization.
  • Passion for solving complex problems and delivering impactful, scalable solutions that drive business value.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, mentor junior engineers, and engage with stakeholders across the organization.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • Exposure to Databricks
  • Experience with data visualization and business intelligence platforms.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Technology, Data Science, or a related field; advanced degree preferred
