Job Summary:
The Workday Technical Lead is responsible for leading the technical design, development, integration, and deployment of Workday solutions.
This role acts as the primary technical authority across Workday integrations, reporting, security, data conversion, and Extend,
while mentoring technical team members and partnering closely with functional leads and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Leadership
Serve as the technical architect for Workday implementations, enhancements, and support programs
Provide hands-on leadership across integrations, reporting, security, and data migration
Review and approve technical designs, code, and configuration standards
Guide technical decision-making and resolve complex system issues
Workday Integrations
Design and develop EIB, Core Connector, Studio, REST/SOAP integrations
Lead inbound and outbound integrations with third-party systems (Payroll, Benefits, Finance, ATS, etc.)
Ensure error handling, reconciliation, and performance optimization
Reporting & Analytics
Lead development of Advanced, Composite, and Matrix reports
Design dashboards, calculated fields, and Workday Prism (if applicable)
Support regulatory, audit, and business reporting requirements
Data Conversion & Migration
Define data conversion strategy and approach
Lead EIB-based data loads, transformations, and validation
Coordinate mock loads, reconciliation, and cutover activities
Security & Access
Design and manage Workday security model (domains, BP security, role-based access)
Ensure compliance with audit and data privacy requirements
Troubleshoot security and access issues
Workday Extend (Optional but Preferred)
Architect and develop Workday Extend applications
Guide UI, orchestration, and integration design using Extend
Stakeholder & Team Collaboration
Work closely with functional leads, project managers, and clients
Translate functional requirements into technical solutions
Mentor junior developers and technical consultants
Participate in project planning, estimations, and risk management

Workday Technical Skills
Strong hands-on experience with:
Workday Integrations (Studio, EIB, Core Connectors)
Advanced Reporting & Calculated Fields
Workday Security Framework
Data Conversion & Mass Data Loads
Solid understanding of Workday architecture and tenant management
Technical Background
Experience with XML, XSLT, JSON, REST/SOAP APIs
Familiarity with middleware tools (Boomi, Mulesoft plus)
Strong debugging and performance optimization skills
Leadership & Soft Skills
Proven experience leading technical teams
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
Ability to work in fast-paced, multi-workstream programs
Excellent problem-solving and analytical mindset
