AI/ML Full-Stack Engineer

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in Orlando, FL that is seeking an AI/ML Full-Stack Engineer for a full time role.
This role is 100% remote and follows a 4x10 work schedule (four 10-hour days per week with three days off), providing additional scheduling flexibility in addition to standard paid time off benefits.

Overview:
We are seeking an entry-level Full Stack Engineer with a strong interest in AI/ML to support an advanced technology and strategy team. This role focuses on early-stage ontology and knowledge graph (KG) development, along with exploratory AI technologies that contribute to the organization's long-term digital transformation initiatives. You will join a collaborative team that values experimentation, innovation, and responsible adoption of emerging technologies. This position provides a unique opportunity for hands-on learning, professional development, and exposure to AI acceleration initiatives.

Responsibilities:
* Collaborate with AI, software engineering, and systems development professionals to support new solution development
* Assist with building and enhancing ontology and knowledge graph capabilities that form the foundation for future AI applications
* Support exploratory research, prototyping, and rapid experimentation across emerging AI/ML technologies
* Participate in developing tools and platforms that enhance automation, improve decision-making, and drive continuous improvement
* Contribute to full-stack development tasks with guidance from senior engineers
* Engage in team discussions, design reviews, and backlog refinement to support Agile delivery rhythms
* Receive mentorship and on-the-job training from experienced engineers and AI specialists

REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, AI/ML, or related field
* Experience with software development, particularly in full-stack engineering
* Familiarity with Python, including reading, writing, and debugging simple scripts
* Basic understanding of Large Language Models (LLMs) or Generative AI concepts
* Fundamental understanding of APIs, including REST principles and making basic API calls

Desired:
* Introductory exposure to LLM tool calling and related workflows
* Introductory experience in API development and integration
* Awareness of Model Context Protocol (MCP)
* Familiarity with Generative AI coding assistants
* Basic understanding of cloud platforms and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
* Knowledge of CI/CD concepts, including GitLab pipelines or OpenShift
* Experience with additional languages such as Java or C++
* Basic understanding of Agile methodologies and version control (e.g., Git)

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
