Job Title: Drupal Web Developer
Location: Austin, TX (Remote)
Description:
The web developer is responsible for maintaining the web application throughout the contract period. Key duties include troubleshooting and resolving defects, ensuring application availability and performance, implementing security updates, and supporting feature updates as needed.
The role also involves monitoring system functionality, performing routine code and content updates, collaborating with stakeholders to address technical requirements, and ensuring compliance with state technology standards and best practices. The developer helps ensure that the application remains reliable, secure, and user friendly for all users. Project is temporary in nature as the agency executes a new contract for a longer-term vendor.
Project Duties:
- Diagnose and resolve issues in custom Drupal modules and application code.
- Manage Acquia code repository branches and merging master and trigger deployment pipelines.
- Work with Drupal Core for updates, patches, and compatibility checks.
- Monitor web application performance.
- Troubleshooting import and export data issues.
- Unpublishing and republishing nodes.
- Backing up databases and performing rollback procedures.
- Modify, compile, and troubleshoot CSS and JavaScript for front-end enhancements and bug fixes.
- Investigate and resolve issues related to CSV uploads and syncing JSON field values to node-based structures
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure timely resolution of ad hoc requests.
Mandatory Qualifications:
- Drupal Expertise: Strong knowledge of Drupal 10 architecture, custom module development, and custom themes.
- PHP: Solid understanding of and experience coding with PHP object-oriented programming, SQL, CSS, JS, AJAX,
- Acquia Platform: Experience with Acquia Cloud, code repository management, and deployment workflows.
- Front-End Development: Proficiency in CSS, JavaScript, and responsive design principles.
- Monitoring: Ability to monitor alerts and performance through the Acquia Environment and New Relic.
- Data Handling: Ability to troubleshoot CSV import processes and JSON data synchronization.
- Version Control: Familiarity with Git branching strategies and code review best practices.
- Sync: Run Drush commands on production server for synchronization.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills for debugging complex issues in a production environment.
- Database: backup of production database.
- Experience with Drush, Composer, and configuration management in Drupal.
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment tools.
- Familiarity with PHP 8.3 and MySQL8 for backend troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with DDEV and git source control.
