Location: Richmond, VA - 4 days onsite / 1 day remote
Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled
Cloud Data Engineer to design, develop, and optimize data warehouse and business intelligence solutions. This role involves architecture recommendations, automation, quality management, troubleshooting, and performance tuning. You will also contribute to transition and implementation plans while ensuring adherence to development standards.
Key Responsibilities- Design, develop, test, and implement complex data warehouse and BI solutions.
- Build reports, dashboards, and prototypes based on established requirements.
- Develop software components and coordinate work of junior developers.
- Review and implement patches, new versions, and deploy code.
- Recommend process improvements and contribute to infrastructure design.
- Participate in cross-functional initiatives and process improvement projects.
Required Qualifications- Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- Experience: 5-9+ years in data engineering or related roles.
- Advanced analytical and technical skills with innovative problem-solving ability.
- Strong attention to detail and data integrity.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to translate technical concepts into non-technical terms.
- Familiarity with application lifecycle management and Agile methodologies.
Technical Skills- SQL Expertise: Advanced SQL development and analysis on RDBMS (SQL Server, Oracle).
- Data Modeling: Strong understanding of data structures and ERD creation.
- ETL Tools: Experience with Informatica.
- AWS Cloud:
- Core services: S3, DMS, Glue, Lambda.
- Data warehousing: Amazon Redshift.
- AWS CLI, SDKs, APIs for application development.
- CI/CD pipelines (GitLab, Terraform, DBMaestro).
- Serverless application development and AWS security best practices.
- Programming: Python
- Visualization: Tableau expertise.
- Containers: Understanding of container usage in development.
