Role 04: SAP IBP & ePPDS Lead (Fulltime)

Location: Corona, CA (on-site 3 days/week)

Focus: Lead-level expertise in ePPDS (Embedded Production Planning and Detailed Scheduling) and its synchronization with IBP.

Role Overview
The IBP ePPDS Lead will serve as the primary design authority for the integrated planning landscape. You will lead the implementation of "Synchronized Planning" scenarios, ensuring that tactical supply plans from IBP are successfully handed over to S/4HANA ePPDS for finite scheduling and that scheduling results are visible back in IBP.

Key Responsibilities

• Synchronized Planning Design: Own the end-to-end architecture between IBP (Order-Based Planning) and S/4HANA ePPDS, defining the handover process for short-term production planning.
• ePPDS Configuration: Lead the configuration of ePPDS heuristics, optimization engines, and detailed scheduling strategies, including changeovers, setup matrices, and pegging.
• IBP Integration: Design and manage Real-Time Integration (RTI) and CIF data flows to ensure master data (Resources, PDS, Products) and transactional data remain consistent across systems.
• Advanced Scheduling: Implement complex scheduling logic such as Characteristic-Dependent Planning (CDP), Shelf-Life planning, and campaign scheduling.
• Stakeholder Leadership: Facilitate design workshops with Manufacturing and Supply Chain heads to align tactical plans with operational constraints.
• Team Management: Oversee offshore delivery teams, ensuring configuration quality, sprint priorities, and adherence to SAP Activate methalogy 

Required Technical Skills & Experience

• Experience: 10–15 years of SAP SCM experience, with at least 5 years specifically in SAP IBP and 2+ years in S/4HANA ePPDS (embedded).
• Core IBP Skills: Expertise in Response & Supply (R&S), Order-Based Planning (OBP), and RTI.
• Core ePPDS Skills: Deep knowledge of the DS Board, PPDS Optimizer, Heuristics, and master data elements like Production Data Structures (PDS).
• ERP Integration: Strong functional understanding of S/4HANA PP (Production Planning) and MM (Materials Management).
• Implementation History: Proven track record of leading at least 2 full-lifecycle implementations involving the integration of IBP with ePPDS.

Preferred Qualifications 

• Synchronized Planning Expertise: Knowledge of the "Production Planning Integration Mode" (PPIM) to control advanced planning behavior.
• Industry Knowledge: Experience in complex manufacturing environments such as Life Sciences (GxP/SOX compliance), Automotive, or High-Tech.
• Certifications: SAP Certified Application Associate for IBP or S/4HANA Production Planning and Manufacturing.

Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to identify process automation opportunities using SAP BTP or AI/ML extensions in IBP
