Responsibilities
The purpose of this position is to provide engineering support for FEATURES, VERIFICATION & VALIDATION (FVV) of product development. The engineering technician will work in the instrumentation lab and support internal engineers to achieve project milestones. The core focus of the department is to support validation activities for complete vehicles for the company.
Accountabilities/ResponsibilitiesEngineering technician in the instrumentation lab will perform following day to day activities:Check-in / check-out all equipment stored in the instrumentation labSuper user of internal asset management database system (IndySoft)Continuously tracking of equipment inventoryTroubleshoot and verify equipment with reported issuesFollow instrumentation procedures to support engineers and projects with equipment on time (Based on GHOST Request)Prioritize & understand calibration activities based on upcoming workloadInterface with calibration and equipment vendorsManage storage location and labelling of test equipmentMust be proficient working with computers and skilled in Microsoft Office suiteEstablishes and maintain well-defined relationship with engineering staff and other stakeholdersExceptional organizational skills and ability to manage multiple activities simultaneouslyThe candidate must have a basic electrical knowledge including the items belowAbility to perform soldering and knowledge of operating tools and equipment needed to perform required workAbility to read and update wiring diagramsAbility to repair wiring harnesses following documented schematics and data sheetsAssemble connectors with including component per company standardsVerify the functionality of instrumentation by following documented proceduresSupport internal 5S procedures to maintain a clean work environment
Associate degree in Electronics, Mechatronics or similar field2-5 years of relevant experiencePositive mind-set, great work ethic and a can-do attitude is requiredDemonstrated verbal and written communication skillsInventory management experience and/or skills is preferredComputer skills including use and application of Microsoft Office is necessaryAbility to function well in teams is requiredPrevious experience with data loggers and measurement sensors is a plus
