Job Title: Senior Product Owner - ServiceNow Transformation

Location: Reston, VA (Hybrid: 1-2 days onsite per week)
Job Type: Contract-to-Hire


Position Overview

We are seeking a vision-driven Senior Product Owner to lead a major ServiceNow transformation initiative. This role will be pivotal in defining product strategy, shaping roadmaps, and managing product backlogs across ServiceNow CSM, ITSM, and CRM modules. The ideal candidate combines strong product ownership expertise, deep business acumen, and the ability to translate complex business needs into actionable development work.


Key Responsibilities

Product Strategy & Backlog Management (80%)

  • Define and maintain Product Vision and Roadmap aligned with business objectives.
  • Own and prioritize Product Backlogs in collaboration with Business Analysts, Architects, SMEs, and stakeholders.
  • Translate business requirements into epics, features, and user stories with clear acceptance criteria.
  • Review and prioritize backlog items based on value, scope, and complexity.
  • Accept or reject development team deliverables to ensure product success.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement (10%)

  • Partner with Business Analysts to break down MVPs into well-structured user stories.
  • Support grooming/refinement sessions and collaborate with Scrum Masters to improve agile processes.
  • Communicate product direction, updates, and value to internal and external stakeholders.

Agile Leadership & Coaching (10%)

  • Champion Agile principles and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Mentor junior Product Owners and promote team development.
  • Encourage collaboration and feedback-driven delivery.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor s degree in Product Management, Engineering, IT, or related field
    (OR 4 additional years of relevant experience in lieu of degree).
  • Experience:
    • 6+ years in IT, business analysis, systems design, or technical development.
    • 4+ years direct experience as a Product Owner.
  • Strong understanding of product management, business operations, and Agile methodologies.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in healthcare industry.
  • Advanced degree is a plus.
  • Hands-on experience with ServiceNow CSM, ITSM, CRM modules.
  • CSPO (Certified Scrum Product Owner) certification preferred.

Additional Requirements

  • Must disclose any debarment/exclusion impacting eligibility for Federal healthcare programs.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality work in dynamic settings.
