Junior Software Engineer to join our team for a 6-month contract. This role is ideal for an early-career engineer who is eager to grow their skills, gain hands-on experience, and contribute to real-world software solutions in a collaborative environment.
You will work alongside senior engineers, product managers, and technical leads within the
DPC product area, supporting the design, development, and maintenance of scalable applications. This role offers exposure to the full software development lifecycle, including development, testing, deployment, and cloud-based technologies.
What You'll Do
- Assist in designing, developing, and maintaining software applications
- Support backend development using Java and Spring Boot
- Contribute to frontend features using React and JavaScript
- Help integrate APIs and support data flows between systems
- Participate in code reviews and follow established coding standards
- Support CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes
- Learn and apply best practices related to performance, security, and scalability
- Collaborate with cross-functional team members to meet project milestones
Required Skills & Experience
- Foundational experience with Java and JavaScript (academic or professional)
- Basic knowledge of Spring Boot and React
- Familiarity with relational databases such as Microsoft SQL or PostgreSQL
- Understanding of Git and version control concepts
- Willingness to learn DevOps and cloud-based tools
Exposure or Interest In (Nice to Have)
- CI/CD pipelines and deployment tools (e.g., GitHub, ArgoCD)
- Cloud platforms, especially Microsoft Azure
- Containerization and Kubernetes concepts (AKS experience is a plus)
- API development and integrations
- PLM tools such as Centric PLM or CLO
