Job Description:
Job Title: Workday HCM Technical Integration Consultant
The Workday HCM Technical Integration Consultant is responsible for designing, developing, and supporting integrations between Workday Human Capital Management (HCM) and internal or third-party systems. This role requires deep expertise in Workday integration tools, HCM business processes, data security, and system interoperability to ensure seamless data exchange and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Workday Integrations
Design, build, test, and deploy Workday integrations using:
Enterprise Interface Builder (EIB)
Core Connectors (Worker, Benefits, Payroll, Compensation)
Studio Integrations
Workday Web Services (REST/SOAP)
Develop inbound and outbound integrations with vendors such as payroll providers, benefits carriers, finance, identity management, and third-party HCM systems.
Manage file-based, API-based, and real-time integrations.
HCM Functional Collaboration
Collaborate with HCM functional teams (Core HCM, Benefits, Payroll, Recruiting, Time Tracking, Absence) to gather integration requirements.
Translate functional business requirements into technical integration solutions.
Support data conversions, mass data loads, and ongoing data synchronization.
Security & Data Governance
Configure and maintain Workday security for integrations, including domains, business process security policies, and integration system users.
Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations (GDPR, SOX, HIPAA where applicable).
Monitor and resolve integration errors and data discrepancies.
Testing & Deployment
Develop integration documentation, mappings, and technical design specifications.
Perform unit testing, system integration testing (SIT), and support UAT.
Assist with Workday releases, regression testing, and post-production support.
Support & Optimization
Troubleshoot and resolve integration failures, performance issues, and data errors.
Optimize existing integrations for performance and scalability.
Provide ongoing support and enhancements for production integrations.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Technical Skills
Strong hands-on experience with Workday HCM integrations
Expertise in:
EIB, Core Connectors, Studio
XSLT, XML, JSON
REST/SOAP APIs
Experience with middleware platforms (MuleSoft, Dell Boomi, Informatica, SnapLogic) is a plus.
Understanding of Workday object model and business process framework.

Professional Experience
3–8+ years of Workday integration or HCM technical consulting experience
Experience in at least one full Workday implementation lifecycle

Preferred Qualifications
Workday Integration Certification
Experience with global payroll and benefits integrations
Knowledge of cloud integration patterns and best practices
Exposure to Agile/Scrum delivery models
