Role: SAP S/4HANA Finance Expert

Experience Required:

• 10+ years of experience in SAP S/4HANA FICO
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

Location:

• Springfield, Illinois (Onsite from Day 1)

Duration:

• Initial contract: 3 months (Expected extension: Up to 12 months thereafter)

Client:

• Public Sector client

• Sandbox demo scheduled on 30th January as part of the final interview

Mandatory Requirement:

• Prior experience working with public sector/state clients is required

Required Skills & Expertise

1. Core SAP Expertise

• Strong understanding of SAP S/4HANA system architecture and key simplification items.
• Hands-on experience evaluating S/4HANA migration approaches:
• Brownfield (System Conversion)
• Selective Data Transition
• Greenfield
• Ability to analyze and leverage SAP Readiness Check, Simplification Item Catalog, and Business Process Discovery tools.
• Experience assessing custom code remediation requirements and their impact on business processes.
• Deep functional knowledge of SAP ECC modules, including:
• FI/CO, MM, SD, PM, HCM, FM/GM
• Strong understanding of ECC-to-S/4HANA process transformations, including:
• Universal Journal
• Business Partner Model
• New Asset Accounting
• MRP Live

2. Technical Skills

• Ability to analyze ECC system usage, custom developments, interfaces, and enhancements.
• Knowledge of SAP integration technologies, including:
• SAP PI/PO
• SAP BTP Integration Suite
• APIs
• Experience with data profiling and initial data migration assessments.
• Familiarity with S/4HANA sizing, performance considerations, and high-level technical architecture changes.

3. Functional & Process Assessment Skills

• Ability to perform current-state process mapping and identify gaps against S/4HANA best practices.
• Experience facilitating workshops with business stakeholders to gather insights and pain points.
• Capability to identify process improvement opportunities enabled by S/4HANA.
• Familiarity with public sector processes, including funds management, procurement, HR/payroll, and grants (preferred).

4. Nice-to-Have Skills

• Experience working on public sector SAP transformation programs.
• Prior involvement in ECC-to-S/4HANA assessments or roadmap initiatives.
• Exposure to business case development or TCO analysis (RFP experience not required).
• Experience with change management or organizational readiness assessments.
