Technical Project Manager Java & Solution Architecture - Charlotte, NC

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Technical Project Manager / Solution Architect with a strong Java background to lead the end-to-end delivery of enterprise-grade applications. This role combines technical architecture, hands-on guidance, and project leadership, ensuring high-quality solutions aligned with business objectives.

The ideal candidate will translate complex business requirements into scalable technical solutions, guide architectural decisions, enforce engineering best practices, and manage agile delivery across cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities

Lead end-to-end delivery of Java-based applications from initiation through deployment.
Convert high-level business requirements into detailed solution designs and technical architectures.
Drive architectural decisions for Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, and cloud-native applications.
Review code, design artifacts, and ensure adherence to best practices, performance, and security standards.
Act as a technical advisor to stakeholders, engineering teams, and leadership.
Implement and enforce Agile/Scrum practices, including sprint planning, backlog grooming, and retrospectives.
Track and report project metrics, delivery milestones, risks, and dependencies.
Collaborate with DevOps and SRE teams to ensure observability, reliability, and scalability.
Mentor developers and technical leads, promoting engineering excellence.

Required Skills & Experience

12+ years of experience in application development, technical project management, and solution architecture.
Strong expertise in Java, Spring/Spring Boot, and Microservices architecture.
Experience with monitoring and observability tools: Grafana, Prometheus, Splunk.
Proficiency in Python for scripting, automation, or tooling.
Solid database experience with Oracle and MongoDB.
Strong understanding of system design, performance tuning, and scalability.
Proven experience managing projects using Agile/Scrum methodologies.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to Have

Cloud experience (AWS / Azure / Google Cloud Platform)
CI/CD and DevOps exposure
Prior experience in a Technical Architect + PM hybrid role
