Title: Scrum Master II
Location: Buffalo, NY – Hybrid
Duration: 6+ Months Contract to Hire
Job Description
What You’ll Be Doing:
Provide servant leadership and mentorship to multiple cross-functional Agile teams in a regulated financial services environment.
Guide teams through Scrum, Kanban, and XP frameworks, ensuring alignment with enterprise delivery standards and banking compliance requirements.
Educate and coach Agile teams to foster self-organization, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Facilitate Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, stand-ups, backlog refinement, reviews, and retrospectives across technology and business-aligned teams.
Encourage and guide a culture of continuous learning and adaptation.
Visualize and communicate work status and impediments to stakeholders through effective information radiators.
Address and escalate blockers to ensure teams remain focused and productive.
Collaborate with other Agile Leaders to strengthen Agile maturity across the organization.
Mentor junior Scrum Masters and lead communities of practice.
Adhere to company risk, compliance, and internal control standards.
What You’ll Need to Have:
Experience as a Scrum Master in banking or financial services industries
Experience in a Scaled Agile environment
Experience with JIRA, Confluence, and reporting using Power BI or similar tools
Bachelor’s degree and minimum 4 years of Agile team experience, including at least 2 years as a Scrum Master, OR Combined 8+ years of education/work experience, including 4 years on Agile teams and 2 years as a Scrum Master
Experience facilitating Agile practices and driving continuous improvement
Strong communication skills and ability to lead through influence
What’s Nice to Have:
Experience in two or more technical team roles (e.g., BA, Developer, Tester, PM)
Knowledge of Agile, Lean, and Design Thinking principles
Experience in digital product development
Prior success leading team self-organization and Agile transformations
