A Fortune 50 financial services company is seeking a highly motivated Contracts Manager for our client in the McLean, Virginia area.
Responsibilities:
Support the Procurement team's objectives by negotiating, executing, and managing commercial contracts for the acquisition of technology-related products and services.
Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts across multiple technology categories. Experience with cloud services and artificial intelligence (AI) contract terms is a plus.
Lead negotiations on contract modifications with input from internal stakeholders.
Advise internal teams on contractual requirements, risk management, and mitigation strategies.
Ensure the level of effort and attention to detail is appropriate to the complexity, value, and risk of each acquisition.
Establish acquisition strategies, including contract type, milestones, and business requirements.
Coordinate contract and purchase agreement reviews with Procurement leadership and the Office of General Counsel, as required.
Analyze vendor proposals and pricing in partnership with business units.
Perform cost and price analysis, including review of cost breakdowns to determine reasonableness.
Develop negotiation objectives and lead pricing, terms, and conditions negotiations with vendors, consulting legal and subject matter experts as needed.
Review key contract terms, deliverables, timelines, and requirements with business units and vendors prior to execution.
Interpret contract provisions and provide guidance to internal stakeholders.
Lead contract modification negotiations.
Manage contract close-outs, terminations, and settlement proposals.
Present options and recommendations to resolve complex contractual issues.
Communicate clearly, concisely, and effectively with all stakeholders.
Anticipate issues and proactively identify solutions.
Qualifications:
In-depth knowledge of and hands-on experience with commercial contracts, contract law, and contract terms and conditions.
5-10 years of required experience in acquisition planning, strategy development, negotiations, contract administration, pricing analysis, and related procurement activities.
Strong knowledge of commercial and business practices related to contract development and execution.
Demonstrated experience identifying, evaluating, and mitigating contractual risk.
Ability to exercise sound judgment and initiative when making decisions.
Proficiency with word processing and spreadsheet software.
Advanced written and verbal communication skills.
Strong understanding of cost containment strategies.
Ability to multitask and work effectively both independently and within a team while meeting deadlines and quality standards.
Advanced research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to negotiate tactfully and effectively with multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.
Bachelor's degree or higher in Business, Contract Management, Information Technology, or a related field. Juris Doctor (JD) is highly desirable.
