The Data Governance Engineer designs, builds, and operationalizes automated data governance controls across the bank s data platforms. This role focuses on embedding governance, data quality, lineage, and metadata directly into data pipelines and platforms by design, ensuring scalability, auditability, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement and configure enterprise data governance platforms (e.g., Collibra, DataHub, Alation).
• Build integrations between governance tools and data platforms (warehouses, lakes, ETL, APIs).
• Automate metadata ingestion, lineage extraction, and stewardship workflows.
• Ensure governance platforms are scalable, secure, and highly available.
• Design and implement end-to-end technical lineage across source systems, ETL pipelines, virtual layers, and reporting tools.
• Integrate lineage from ETL tools (e.g., Informatica, DataStage, dbt, Airflow) and data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Oracle).
• Validate lineage accuracy and completeness for regulatory and audit use cases.
• Support change impact analysis through automated lineage.
• Implement automated data quality checks within data pipelines.
• Integrate data quality frameworks and tools into ingestion and transformation layers.
• Enable issue detection, alerting, and remediation workflows.
• Support implementation of access controls, data classification, and privacy tagging.
• Integrate governance platforms with IAM, role-based access, and entitlement systems.
• Ensure controls align with regulatory and internal security standards.
• Support evidence generation for audits and regulatory exams.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field.
• 6 10+ years of experience in data engineering, platform engineering, or data governance engineering.
• Strong experience with data pipelines, ETL/ELT, and metadata management.
• Hands-on experience with governance or catalog platforms.
• Experience in regulated financial services environments
