Business Systems Analyst (Actuarial IT)About the RoleWe're looking for a Business Systems Analyst (Actuarial IT) to support requirements gathering, analysis, and solution design for Agile delivery teams. In this role, you'll partner with Actuarial business units to understand data and process needs, document requirements, and support modernization efforts for the Actuarial Data Center. You'll also contribute to testing, production support, and continuous improvement initiatives across the actuarial technology ecosystem.
Responsibilities- Facilitate requirement-gathering sessions with stakeholders and develop clear, comprehensive documentation aligned with business needs.
- Translate business requirements into functional specifications and collaborate with IT teams to design effective technical solutions.
- Work within an Agile framework to create and refine user stories in JIRA and coordinate user acceptance testing.
- Support incident and defect management for both BAU and project-related work.
- Serve as a backup for other BSAs during projects, refinement sessions, and production support activities.
- Apply best practices to ensure consistency in documentation, standards, and execution.
- Perform data analysis and coding as needed using SAS, SQL, R, or Python.
- Contribute to modernization initiatives leveraging AWS and cloud-based technologies.
- Maintain strong communication with Actuarial business units and support production processes.
Minimum Qualifications- Proven experience as a Business Systems Analyst, ideally within actuarial or data-driven environments.
- Proficiency in SQL and familiarity with data analysis tools or programming languages (SAS, R, Python).
- Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and experience writing user stories in JIRA.
- Ability to produce high-quality, complete, and unambiguous business and functional requirement documentation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver requirements on time within project scope and schedule.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
