Modernization Project Manager

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Modernization Project Manager in Boston, MA.

Responsibilities:
* Collaborate with product managers, project managers, stakeholders, and vendors to define scope, objectives, deliverables, and success criteria
* Create and maintain project documentation (charter, plans, status reports, checklists)
* Develop work plans, schedules, and resource requirements; Track progress in PMO tools (e.g., MS Project Online)
* Manage scope, schedule, budget, and resources; Communicate status regularly
* Facilitate technical support including architectural and compliance reviews
* Identify and mitigate project risks and issues; Escalate as needed
* Coordinate meetings with vendors and agencies; track feedback and action items
* Communicate modernization goals and functionality to development teams
* Develop and validate acceptance test plans, drive testing and approval process
* Ensure team access to systems, materials, and product demos; Maintain team rosters
* Track budgets and vendor billing; Report progress and discrepancies

REQUIREMENTS:
* 5-8 years managing complex, cross-functional IT projects with multiple vendors
* Experience with large public sector IT projects and budgeting practices
* Expertise in Microsoft 365 suite (Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Project); Power BI a plus
* Knowledge of organizational change management and end-user training
* Familiarity with PMI concepts, Agile/Scrum, ITIL; Theory of Constraints a plus
* Understanding of software development lifecycle and release management
* Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills
* Skilled in creating and executing project plans aligned with goals
* Excellent written, presentation, and interpersonal skills for all organizational levels
* Proven leadership, customer service focus, and attention to detail; Process redesign experience preferred
* Ability to manage multiple projects in a matrixed environment under tight timelines

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
