Overview
The Business Process Reengineering Specialist (BPRS) plays a key role in supporting an upcoming IT initiative by leading business requirements gathering and strengthening collaboration across business, technical, and project management teams. This role balances hands-on requirements work with the development of reusable templates, guidance materials, and coaching resources that improve consistency and delivery across Business Analysis (BA), Quality Assurance (QA), and Subject Matter Expert (SME) roles.
Approximately 75% of effort will focus on requirements gathering for a new IT project, with the remaining 25% dedicated to creating and tailoring reference materials and templates that support Agile delivery and long-term production support, particularly within Azure DevOps.
Key Responsibilities
Requirements Gathering & Analysis
- Facilitate requirements elicitation sessions to identify impacted business processes, data, and systems
- Document clear, unambiguous, and testable business requirements
- Analyze current-state and future-state business processes to guide system functionality
- Translate business needs into requirements understandable by both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Actively monitor requirements to ensure alignment with project scope, objectives, and timelines
Agile Delivery & Backlog Management
- Develop and maintain the project backlog in Azure DevOps during Agile projects
- Collaborate with Product Owners to prioritize user stories and work items
- Support effective management of Azure DevOps cards, user stories, and workflow progression
- Provide input into Build vs. Buy decisions through business and technical analysis
Process Improvement & Enablement
- Create, tailor, and maintain templates, reference materials, and standards for BA, QA, and SME roles
- Ensure cohesiveness between business teams, technical staff, and the Project Management Office (PMO)
- Support production support activities through improved backlog and requirement management practices
- Ensure required SEM deliverables are completed, reviewed, and approved in alignment with organizational processes
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience in Business Analysis and/or Quality Assurance within an Agile environment
- Strong experience using Azure DevOps for backlog management, user stories, and work tracking
- Demonstrated ability to gather, document, and communicate complex business requirements
- Experience with business process analysis and process improvement initiatives
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
