Sr. Design Engineer – Exterior Trim, Mechanisms & Glazing

Role Summary

Lead the design, packaging, engineering, release, and launch of exterior trim, mechanisms, and glazing systems for a premium vehicle. Work closely with cross-functional studio and vehicle engineering teams to deliver high-quality, functional, and cost-efficient exterior systems.

Mandatory Skills & Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in vehicle exterior component design & development

• Hands-on experience with one or more exterior systems:

  • Side valences, sill trims, rocker panels

  • Underbody aero shields, wheelhouse liners

  • Spoilers / appliques

  • Frunk / front compartments

  • Glazing

  • OSRVM (mirrors)

  • Wiper & washer systems

• Proven expertise in CAD modeling and complex surface design
  (CATIA V5 / V6 preferred)

• Experience with thermoplastic and thermoset materials and Class-A manufacturing processes, including painting

• Strong understanding of engineering analysis and computational tools used in design development

• Experience supporting design release and vehicle launch activities

• Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams (studio, vehicle engineering, suppliers)

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
