About the Role
As a Project Manager you will lead the execution of complex commercial HVAC and mechanical construction projects. Responsibilities
- Support and manage one or more mechanical construction projects under the guidance of Senior Project Managers.
- Collaborate with field staff, including foremen and craftsmen, to ensure seamless execution of self-performed work.
- Lead project planning from inception to completion, ensuring alignment with client expectations and internal standards.
- Apply Lean Construction principles to optimize workflows and deliver value to clients.
- Monitor and manage project financials, including forecasting, budgeting, and cost control.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, promoting repeat business and long-term partnerships.
- Mentor junior team members, fostering growth and development in alignment with Southland's core value: "People."
- Drive innovation in construction techniques and prefabrication strategies.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- 7-10+ years of experience managing mechanical construction projects within a mechanical or MEP firm.
- Proven expertise in HVAC, piping, and building systems design and construction.
- Strong financial acumen with experience in project forecasting and budget management.
- Demonstrated leadership, accountability, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Design/Build and Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) methodologies.
- Familiarity with Lean Construction tools and principles.
- Project experience in data centers, federal facilities, industrial, or healthcare sectors.
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive collaborative outcomes.
