Location: Danville, PA

About the Role

As a Project Manager you will lead the execution of complex commercial HVAC and mechanical construction projects. You'll manage multiple projects simultaneously, ranging in size and scope, while providing strategic leadership to project engineers and collaborating closely with field teams. Your role is pivotal in ensuring high-quality project delivery, maintaining financial health, and fostering long-term client relationships.

Responsibilities
  • Support and manage one or more mechanical construction projects under the guidance of Senior Project Managers.
  • Collaborate with field staff, including foremen and craftsmen, to ensure seamless execution of self-performed work.
  • Lead project planning from inception to completion, ensuring alignment with client expectations and internal standards.
  • Apply Lean Construction principles to optimize workflows and deliver value to clients.
  • Monitor and manage project financials, including forecasting, budgeting, and cost control.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, promoting repeat business and long-term partnerships.
  • Mentor junior team members, fostering growth and development in alignment with Southland's core value: "People."
  • Drive innovation in construction techniques and prefabrication strategies.


Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • 7-10+ years of experience managing mechanical construction projects within a mechanical or MEP firm.
  • Proven expertise in HVAC, piping, and building systems design and construction.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience in project forecasting and budget management.
  • Demonstrated leadership, accountability, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Design/Build and Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) methodologies.
  • Familiarity with Lean Construction tools and principles.
  • Project experience in data centers, federal facilities, industrial, or healthcare sectors.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive collaborative outcomes.
