Job Description:

Program Overview Financial Journey Foundation (FJF)

FJF is an enterprise-wide, cross-business initiative to upgrade financial accounting systems and build a stronger foundation for future growth.
The program will replace the obsolete PeopleSoft system with Oracle's cloud ERP, modernizing how finance work is done across the company.
FJF will impact other business systems, processes, and data management, which in turn affects decision-making and the skills needed in supporting roles.

Key Focus Areas:

Replacing Aging Systems with Modern Tools
- Transitioning from legacy systems (like PeopleSoft) to a cloud-based Oracle ERP.
- Goal is to streamline processes, reduce manual work, and better support global operations.
Enabling More Business Agility
- Improved access to consistent data, better reporting tools, and more automation.
- Frees up time for higher-value work and enables the business to adapt quickly to changes or disruptions.

Team Structure / Reporting Context

Contractor will work closely with another PM in the Platform space who came from Finance and has deeper background on the project.
Will have support from PFG PM Michael and will partner with:
- Product Manager / Senior Product Manager
- Program Manager
- Directors & Delivery Managers
- Technical contacts and broader project group

What We're Looking For in This PM

Level & Background

Mid-level PM (potential to be a lead for the area depending on experience).
PFG background (with rehire check) is highly preferred.
Financial and/or accounting / General Ledger (GL) background is very helpful.

Key Traits

Extremely detail-oriented.
Strong ability to dig into complex details, identify gaps, and drive clarity.
Excellent documentation, communication, and collaboration skills.
Comfortable working in a space with lots of unknowns and evolving requirements.

Core Responsibilities

Product & Strategy Alignment
- Develops a strong understanding of the product strategy and how this work fits into it.
- Accountable for understanding and defining key business outcomes and requirements.
- In partnership with a PM/Senior PM, identifies opportunities or problems, and helps articulate hypotheses to test.
Delivery & Execution
- Accountable for the success of product delivery in collaboration with both technology and non-technology partners.
- Works with other team members to remove impediments and manage dependencies for the team.
- Ensures the product team has the business, customer, user, and stakeholder context needed to solve problems effectively.
- Collaborates with the team to break down work into increments that frequently release valuable product changes.
Agile / Product Owner Duties
- Typically plays the Product Owner role for SCRUM teams.
- Collaborates on story creation and refinement, definition of success criteria, and prioritization.
- Accepts work as done when it meets defined criteria.
- Participates in team/agile ceremonies and helps ensure effective routines and structure.
Stakeholder Communication
- Partners with team members to deliver value with quality.
- Communicates product releases and updates to stakeholders and partners.
