ECS is seeking Task Manager who directs and manages project status to include mobile development projects. Defines project scope, goals, and deliverables that support business and IT goals in collaboration with business sponsors and other stakeholders. Works with business sponsors and others as needed to create and/or update project charters, including definition of completion criteria.
The candidate will perform and have the following duties, roles, and / or responsibilities:
- Acts as advisor to applications team regarding projects, tasks, and operations.
- Navigates the complexities of a workplace in a smooth manner, while also promoting collaboration and minimizing resistance.
- Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
- Leads and directs the work of others.
- Reports to head of a unit/department.
- Provides leadership in forming the appropriate project team to meet the project objectives.
- Communicates a clear vision of the project's objectives and leads the project team in achieving them. Effectively communicates project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely manner. Communicates appropriate outcomes with project stakeholders and project team to provide timely and accurate information and status updates, along with issue and risk management within individual projects and across a program.
- Organizes project work into manageable groups (project phases and work breakdown) and determines an effective approach for completing the work.
- Ensures the appropriate timing, resources, and sequencing of the work efforts are aligned to produce the desired results within the project schedule.
- Ensures that project and product interdependencies within a program of multiple projects (and across other business lines and programs) are considered and are tracked as projects are planned and executed.
- Conducts comprehensive project status reviews of programs and related projects and their interdependencies.
- Assigns work according to the plan and schedule. Monitors project activities and reports on status. Reviews quality of work and leads integration of team member work.
- Creates a positive environment for the project/program team including open communication and a clear path to escalate risks and issues. Facilities fast and efficient decision-making required for progress on the project. Leads project team members and contractors; encourages them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work.
- Proactively identifies risks and develops contingency plans; identifies issues and manages their timely resolution. Tracks risks and issues in appropriate repositories and ensures their visibility to the people required to resolve them. Escalates risks and issues as appropriate.
- Demonstrates a strong technical acumen.
- Communicates project status, progress, and issues within the project team as well as to IT managers and staff, stakeholders, and project sponsors
Salary Range: $90,000 - $98,000

Required Skills - 5+ years of experience leading teams of developers / engineers.
- Technically competent with the software development life cycle (SDLC)
- Proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple, concurrent large-scale projects across multiple sites including infrastructure implementations while meeting aggressive deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong written and oral communication skills. Strong relationship management skills.
- Proficiency with project management software
- Strong planning, organizational and process development skills.
- Technically competent with various software programs - MS Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio.
- Works independently as well as collaboratively with minimal professional and managerial supervision.
- The candidate must have ability and willingness to work in a team environment with preferred experience in a large company or government agency supporting multiple applications and systems.
Desired Skills - 5+ years of direct work experience in an IT project management role
- PMP certification
- Possesses historical knowledge of USPS applications, processes, and procedures
- Ability to analyze critical information and/or run queries
- Implements automation technology to reduce failures and improve SLA's, and enhance application performance
- Has experience preparing reports and documentation for executive leadership, including c-suite levels of leadership
