Job Title: Senior UX Engineer
Summary: Applies a solid understanding of standard user experience (UX) design principles, techniques, procedures, and criteria toward the development of new or enhanced software products or processes. Plans, executes, and functionally directs important UX assignments, which require independent judgment.
Has strong visual design and branding experience, including experience working with components, tokens, and a design language system (DLS) in figma.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: This section contains a list of 5 to 8 primary responsibilities of this role that account for 5% or more of the work. The incumbent will perform other duties assigned.
1) Create user friendly interface designs, adhering to established UI design standards and practices, including Baxter design patterns and guidelines, W3C guidelines, Google Material Design guidelines, Apple Human Interface Guidelines, and Android Design Guidelines.
2) Participate in customer interviews, interactions, and other user research to identify customer needs and wants.
3) Create UI prototypes, which may be used for testing or marketing purposes.
4) Participate in usability research, including creating test plans and scripts, moderating usability test sessions, and writing final reports.
5) Document user experience designs and specifications.
6) Provide UX and design input to cross functional teams, including recommendations for product and process improvements based on UX expertise and knowledge.
7) Act independently with minimal supervision.
8) Utilize project team engineering methodologies and tools to manage work and communicate across teams and specialties.

1) A solid understanding of UX design principles
2) Experience using UI design and prototyping tools, especially advanced figma skills, including creating and using components, variables, auto-layout, and themes
3) Passion for improving user experiences and willing and able to advocate on behalf of the user and UX best practices
4) Ability to explain and document UI designs and decisions, both verbally and in written form
5) Ability to collaborate with other team members on design projects
6) Ability to work independently while collaborating and communicating with software development project teams
7) Ability to travel to client and/or customer sites and meet hospital credentialing requirements
8) Desired: Experience with medical device or other regulated disciplines
Background and/or Experience: B.S. in Human Factors or related field, or equivalent, and three to five years related work experience.
