Job Description

The Security Specialist will be responsible for supporting and securing the Microsoft 365 (M365) cloud ecosystem within a large corporate or government environment. This role requires extensive hands-on experience with M365 services, Power Platform development, SharePoint Administration, and .NET technologies, along with strong capabilities in automation, compliance management, and troubleshooting. The ideal contractor will combine technical expertise with strong communication and collaboration skills to ensure secure and efficient operations.

Key Responsibilities

Support, secure, and maintain the Microsoft 365 (M365) Cloud Suite in a large enterprise or government environment.
Develop and enhance solutions using the Microsoft Power Platform, including PowerApps, Power Automate (Flow), and Power BI.
Build and maintain applications using .NET technologies (C#, ASP.NET MVC, Entity Framework) along with JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
Create and manage PowerShell scripts to automate M365 administrative and security tasks.
Support and secure Exchange Online, Intune, Azure Active Directory, and the broader Azure ecosystem.
Perform Microsoft 365 development and SharePoint Administration, including customization of SharePoint lists and integration with external systems using PowerApps.
Develop both Canvas and Model-Driven PowerApps, ensuring secure data access and compliance.
Manage and enforce user permissions, compliance settings, data retention policies, and governance across the M365 environment.
Leverage Copilot for Power Apps, Copilot for Power Automate, and AI Builder to enhance automation and solution capabilities.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical and security-related issues across the M365 cloud platform, including AvePoint Online Services.
Communicate technical concepts and security considerations clearly to diverse audiences.
Build and maintain effective working relationships with business units, ensuring secure and efficient system usage.

Required Qualifications

Minimum of 5 years of experience supporting Microsoft 365 cloud environments in a large corporate or government setting.
Extensive experience with the Microsoft Power Platform PowerApps, Power BI, and Power Automate.
Strong .NET development skills (C#, ASP.NET MVC, Entity Framework) and front-end technologies (JavaScript, HTML, CSS).
Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for automation and administrative tasks.
Solid knowledge of Exchange Online, Intune, Azure AD, and Azure cloud services.
Experience with Microsoft 365 development and SharePoint Administration.
Strong experience developing PowerApps models and customizing SharePoint solutions.
Demonstrated ability to manage M365 permissions, compliance rules, and data retention policies.
Experience working with Copilot for Power Apps, Copilot for Power Automate, and AI Builder.
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues across the entire M365 cloud platform and AvePoint Online Services.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proven ability to develop and maintain effective business relationships.
